Model Game

Notes for Beginners:
1. Stones are played on the intersections of the lines, not within the squares.
2. Once a stone is played, it is not moved unless captured & taken off the board.
3. Black moves first, and in general the weaker player should take black.
4. The 5 marked intersections are called the "star points" and are used handicapping and navigation.
5. Pay attention to the capture and removal of the 2-stone black group in the upper left
6. The lone white stone in the lower left has not been killed and removed from the board, but it is none the less dead and counts as a prisoner
7. At the end, the upper left and lower right are territory of White, and the opposite corners are that of Black.
8. Score : White wins by 1.
